Hall of Dogs SPAM NOTICE
The Hall of Dogs is a place to exhibit our most honest, sincere, and cutest friends. I want to invite all our friends and fans to submit a photo of their pup or killer guard dog so we can get the Hall filled with all the great fellers we have in our world. Just e-mail us a photo so the guys and I can see if it should be put up. Give us the name, a very brief description (and your name and town, please) and if it makes the cut, your tail waggin' buddy will be added to the Hall. We retain the final decision mostly for weeding out tasteless stuff, not to judge the dog. Almost all dog photos will get a 3-paw yes vote from the fellers. Show us your favorite furry friend at dogs@heartsfield.com. Here are my four pups, and they want some company. Chance is a very intimidating feller running about 110 lbs. of manly powerful beauty. His grandaddy was a champion SchutzHund, ranking in the top 10 of the world for some years; ma and paw were a very nice German Shepherd couple that inspired awe and uneasiness at first glance. 
Molly is my baby living stuffed animal, like when you were a kid and wished your favorite stuffed bear or whatever was real and alive, that's her. I was always a big dog guy never had much desire to be in the company of small GIRL dogs. Then I inherited this white bundle of joy from my broken home and have fallen hard for those heart-melting eyes. Now she is a Shitzu/Poodle mix but around here she is treated like a real dog, so she is as tough as they come. 
Here's a picture of our new dog, Awful... Brewskie. our other dog, will teach him everything he needs to know about Heartsfield music. He'll know the volume goes up and the beer starts a flowin.
Puddin’ and Punkin', mother and daughter. English Springer Spaniels who have the joy of still owning their tails to wag. Puddin’ would have loved to compete as a bench bred show dog--but the AKC won’t recognize Springers with tails!! Freakin' stupid human rules!!

Maverick is 11 yrs. old. He says Ma Ma, does high 5 & high 10. Plays dead, rolls over and more. He's the love of my life, never leaves my side. Mav loves it when it snows.
This is my killer Chihuahua, Izabella. She was a Mother's Day gift from my daughter Stephanie in 2006. She approaches dogs that are 50x her size and growls at them! She wrestles regularly with our cat Onna so much that my son has nicknamed her the "Cage Fighter". She's a spitfire and I think she's harder to keep up with than a toddler!
I wanted to send a picture of our two dogs taken when they were little pups. They are sisters, littermates, Meg and Bonnie. My son took this picture, and I am forever thankful that he had the eye to snap this.
These are our three Hot Dogs (Dachshunds) Emma, Hulda and Nora; pass the mustard, please. They are great dogs. We have had big dogs, medium-sized dogs, and now these three, and these guys are a blast. We adopted Hulda, the Chocolate Longhaired, from a rescue in Omaha, NE. who got her and 42 other Dachshunds from a puppy mill in Missouri. She already had two litters before she was two. She has turned out to be a great addition to our family.
This is Elsie on the left. She was born in a corn field and left to die. She came to us at 3 hours old, wrapped in a pink baby blanket from the Humane Society.

This is Sunny, short for Sunflower. She's a 4-year-old, 93 lb. yellow lab who still fully believes she's a lap dog. Her favorite activities include getting into things she shouldn't have, and hanging out with dad in the driveway, visiting with the neighbors while he listens to music. The pictures are one of Sunny on the couch (which she's not allowed on) and one of her with me, her favorite playmate.

Here are some dog photos for your collection. My 11 and 12 year-old boys love the cut on the Rescue the Dog CD. We have rescued our dogs from the local animal shelters. Top picture is of Squirt and Sonny, the German Shepherd mix. Next one is of Winnie our Beagle, and her (I-think-I'm-a-dog) friend, Fire the cat. 
I noticed my Loudog was still up there .... maybe we should tell the folks he's in doggy heaven now... wahhh :( 
Wanted to send an update of Roscoe (already in the Hall of Dogs) with our other dog, Maggie. As you can tell from the photos, Rottweilers are such mean dogs!

Here is a picture of our puppy, Blaze. He is a pit/lab mix. He shares a house with 4 cats and 5 4-week-old kittens that we are trying to nurse back to health after being found in a box. I sent this picture for the hall because he's in the kitty cube! He puts himself through it and runs like crazy around the house.
We rescued this old boy, who is perhaps 10+ years old, from the Macon County Animal Control & Care Center this week. He came to the shelter about 8 weeks ago, found out in a rural wooded area, covered with fleas and ticks. He had chewed anywhere he could turn around and reach, trying to get rid himself of the parasites. He had incredibly long, curled toenails, which our vet said was a sign that he had lived most of his life in a cage. 
Sydney, our 10 mo. old Maltese/Poodle mix is supersweet but fiesty as can be; plays hard with our Catahoula Leopard dog Smokey Blue. She has no idea she is a little dog. We adopted her from my work because her owner didn't want her anymore since she has Thrombocytopenia and needs medication.

My Golden's name is Buddy, my German's name is Kaiser, and my Flat-Coat's name is Cody. The German and the Flat-Coat were rescued from the Macon County Animal Shelter in Decatur, Illinois. I am the Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation president. I am a guitarist as well, and have been a Heartsfield fan since I saw you perform at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston (in 1975 I believe).
Here's the kids' dog Brew (full name "Brewski"). We all love her. She goes crazy just like we do when we listen to "Heartsfield." 
Amie was your typical Dobe.... a 55-pound lap dog! Only had her 8 years but I guess you take what you can get. Still miss and won't ever forget her.
Good friend Steve and families pal. See, drummers do make good dads!!! Seems he's saying "So, what are you guys gonna eat and where's the steak?"
They are my unconditional loving wags of joy. Bear and Jenna are Akitas, Boone a Choc Lab, and Weezer is a Dalmation/Whippet (I think) mix. I've had the boys since they were pups, and we survived a nasty divorce from an abuser. I wouldn't have made it without them. I have since rescued the girls from death at shelters. I couldn't ask to be the alpha to a better pack.
Bella, a Great Dane, is almost completely blind, and was rescued from the hands of the grim reaper at a "humane" shelter. She is the most loving and sensitive kid we've ever had. When she gets her feelings hurt, she cries like a baby. Bella and Dozer came as a "package deal." 
This is our pal Bernadette (Bernie) who left us just a few days after her 13th birthday. She was a best friend to me, Mary Beth and our kids Kellie and Joe, who have never known a world without her. She'd entertain us, listen to us, get us up off our sorry butts sometimes and comfort us when we were ailing. We hope she's perpetually fetch slimy tennis balls in that big field in the sky. 
Check this out. Blair is the Old English Sheepdog. Hans bist eine Drathaar. Du verstedt deine Deutsche jetst? Meine ist nicht zer gut. Patti had a Samoyed who passed before her time. I was cutting trees with my friend when she stopped and told me I had to come a meet this puppy she wanted. Didn’t know anything about sheepdogs, but he had to come home with us. A friend everyone should experience.
He is an Italian greyhound and we 'rescued' him from life on a farm--a life far too rough for these delicate (but not whimpy) doggies. Romeo and Gina Lola (our older IGs) had a bit of a time getting used to his frisky puppy ways, but they love him now. They all curl up togehter at night--very sweet.
Bud is the best friend I've got. I look into his eyes and see every dog I ever had the pleasure of loving.
We adopted this greyhound named "Christian of York" in November of '97.

The bowls are washed for the last time, your bed, bones, and leash are put away. We knew you'd eventually leave us. We just hoped for a little more. We're missing you bad, though we know you had to go. To a place where you can run again, your favorite things are fun again. Where there's always a sunny spot to lay and watch the world go by. Your toys are always where you left them, never to be taken by your friends that went before you, waiting for the time when you can run, and play with them again in puppy heaven. We said goodbye to Ditto Dog just the other day. My girl got her from the shelter 13 years ago and has been her roomie ever since.
This is Dozer, a Great Dane. He and Bella were both rescued from the same shelter. Dozer is totally deaf. When the big guy first came to live with us, he was scared to death. His tail was literally tucked all the way up to his chest. Now he is very happy, and loves to play with all his sisters. And, oh yes, the tail now wags and points straight out the back. 
"Rescue the Dog" -- Goonie was another shelter dog who we saved from an uncertain future. Goonie is blind in one eye and has thyroid problems. She also had hip replacement surgery about 10 months ago, and is now fully recovered. We know Perry can certainly relate to that!!!!!
This is Gretta & Maggie - our 'babies'! We adopted them from our local shelter three years ago and we've been best buds since. They're so awesome and we appreciate them everyday as we believe they ~appreciate~ us! Their favorite thing to do is run up to our bedroom in the morning to get pets and hugs....followed by ~outside and treats~, of course! ;-)
Jake a cocker/terrier mix who is the best dog we have ever had, unfortunately she is 14 now.... 
And talk about small world - I just saw the link to theanimalrescuesite on your website, I've been clicking there from another site for about 3 yrs now! Another great site (and cause) is Hearts United for Animals (www.hua.org), I believe they are located south of Omaha and do a lot of rescues from breeders. 
We adopted Kelly, a very active Weimaraner, after Jim's step-father passed away. Kelly was too hyper for his mom to handle. So being the big softies that we are, we decided we had "plenty of room" for dog #7. She has become a very sweet and much calmer feller in the past year. 
He doesn't do a damn thing I tell him. We're like 2 mules in a pod and I love him Big Time.
Loki - the god of mischief is about to turn 10 years old and is a full time employee at Val's halla Records in Oak Park Illinois -- it's a hard life - just ask him.
I love your hall of dogs! Such a fitting tribute to these amazing souls that bless our lives. I would like to add one of our "pack"
Max is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever. He's now a year old and you can't keep him out of the water. Fetch'n all day Max is lively and affectionate and sometimes a little smelly but we love hime just the same.
Thought I'd share my "kids" with you. They're Maggie and Rachel, they went a year without seeing their "daddy" who just got back from deployment to Camp Doha, Kuwait. 
Mojo is a 2-year-old west highland white terrier who loves the blues!!
Oh yes, the Bonshire feller. Oscar has been an attending member of many a band party, and through Scotty's tutoring has been known to play some mean percussion. Look at that casual style, a true stud !!

Here are Rocky and Muffin. Rock is 13 and Muffi is 10. They are the love and joy of our lives and spoiled rotten and keep us hopping all the time. We love them to death. They would feel honored to be with the other guys in the Hall of Dogs. Thanks for all the help you are giving to our furry little guys down south LOL.

She weathered many a storm with me. She was my main mode of transportation and a pillow for my drunken head. She was my best friend and my worst enemy. But most of all she was always right by my side. I'll never forget that dog.
My 12-year old Shepherd/Sheltie who has been my best friend and the brightest light in my life all these years. Thank you, Sharla, for greeting me every day I come home, for waking up with me each morning, for the warmth that floods my heart every time I see you, for the companionship and special bond that is ours. 
This is our dog, "SPOT," who our son, Aaron, named 7 years ago. He has one white spot on his chest! Every time he does that thing with his tongue, the girls go crazy!
Sweetie Pie, another Great Dane, is our oldest dog. She became part of our family about 7 years ago. We were driving home from a friend's house in the wee hours of the morning, and there she was, standing right in the middle of the road. We loaded her up in our itty bitty car and took her home. Found out the next morning why she had been dumped -- Sweetie was very pregnant! Two weeks later she gave us eleven cute little fellers -- found 'em all good homes too!

it is my dog, topaz's birthday today (10/6/05), she is FIFTEEN years old today, and bursting with health and energy. she is a siberian husky/german shepherd mix and is the greatest companion i could've ever asked for. like that led zeppelin song, "bron yr aur stomp" "there's no companion like a blue eyed girl!" okay, i know it's really "blue eyed merle" and written for strider, plant's dog, but we love to change the lyrics and belt that one out whilst driving all over the world together! 
She is 7 months old and boy is she a handful, but no matter how much she chews on things and takes my shoes, etc. we love her more than you could ever imagine.
Wiggles absolutely loves attention. She was rescued from an elderly lady's doorstep when Jim used to be a deputy sheriff. He received a call about a "mean dog" that would not let the woman step outside her door. He brought Wiggles, a sweet little puppy, home in his squad car & she melted our hearts. Wiggles was involved in a terrible choking accident. Jim administered mouth-to-mouth & CPR to revive her. She saw the bright lights, and they told her, "Go back -- it's not your time yet."
