For years I enjoyed Heartsfield's music and it took me a lot of those years to run across your website. When I did I backfilled all the cds I was missing. Then I took a second to send an email and ask Perry if we could do a quick phone interview. Instead, he got in the car and braved a ridiculous Wisconsin snow and ice storm to come into the studio and perform live. My jaw still aches from smiling and and my fingers hurt from answering all the listeners emails.
I still remember all the great live shows that Heartsfield put on in which the crowds went crazy... so it should have been no shock that the live tunes unplugged would blow everyone away. But whether it is listening to the cds, seeing a live show, or witnessing a unique intimate performance right in front of you... I don't care how callous or cool you are... Perry and Heartsfield always had and still have something magical. It was great. And by the way, I am still hearing from listeners wanting to know how they can get the almost finished "demo" song we played (First Time I Saw You). www.wklh.com, www.stevepalec.com |

Our Rock N' CholesteRoll show featured America, John Waite and Heartsfield. We had more positive feedback from our listeners regarding Heartsfield than either of the other bands! They Rocked the house!! www.k-hits.com |

This band really rocks! The band has a great chemistry that the crowd can feel and be part of. Perry is a great front man and the rest of the band are consummate pros. They always draw a large, attentive crowd. The Ribfest is a fund raising event to prevent child abuse in all of its forms. The entertainment is what drives people in the gates. I’ve hand picked Heartsfield to open for our major headliners…Dicky Betts/Los Lobos, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Loretta Lynn, and Charlie Daniels to mention the past four years. I know they will put butts in the seats…lawn chairs in this case…and entertain them. Last year, with the help of bands like Heartsfield, we were able to raise over $900,000 to donate to our cause. I would recommend them for any event. Great music and really fine people to work with, too. www.ribfest.net |

Heartsfield formed back in 1972 and today, with a new lineup with founding member Perry Jordan, is by far one of the top country rock bands touring today! The guitar army, as Heartsfield as been called, will leave you in awe. This band will not take a backseat to any band touring today. Heartsfield is the real deal, and once you hear them, you will be hooked. On or off the stage, this 5-piece band is simply the best. www.wuspfm.com |

Heartsfield is a Midwestern treasure. "The Guitar Army" comes ready to play. Their music is tight and exciting, beginning with the great lyrics, into the brilliant jam of the dueling guitars, and then settles down, leaving you breathless at the end of each song.
I saw my first band in 1963 and I put Heartsfield in the top ten that I have ever seen, including Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Little Feat, Monte Montgomery and Greg Koch. The harmonies take me back to the first major group I ever saw, "The Beach Boys." Whether you are a musician or just a music lover, this solid group will impress you, guitars, bass, and drums, all solid. www.uwsp.edu/stuorg/wwsp/index.html |

I loved the band and also loved the pie! I wish you could put up our logo but our legal counsel won't allow that. But, you can use my name. www.billgarcia.com |

I moved from Chicago (after working at WLS and the old WFYR...to Milwaukee (for a country station), but, at least you guys play there. I was on a road trip with my boss last month and I brought along some Heartsfield CDs. He went nuts. He and I worked at a radio station in Moline, IL in the late 70s and he hadn't heard you guys since we were playing your early stuff back then. You know, Superstars come and go...but there just aren't enough guys like you. Through thick and thin, you've hung in there. Says a lot about you and the band. Heartsfield is the real deal. |

Perry Jordan is a great writer and singer. His band, Heartsfield, is a fantastic bunch of guys who can play and sing with anyone in the world.
We do lots of gigs with Heartsfield and always have a ball, their audience loves them, and they are a really hard act to follow. www.commandercody.com |

Perry Jordan has rescued and updated one of the best country rockin' bands from the '70s and given us all a musical boost. This version of Heartsfield picks up where the original left off. When they're not shitkickin', they're kickin' ASS!!! Take the pop edge and vocal style of Lynyrd Skynyrd and overlay the superb harmonies of a Paul Cotton-driven Poco and you have an idea. Laid back with a light shuffling rhythm, it screams “We're Heartsfield and we're here!” www.angelfire.com/indie/itzorr/Rescue.html |

Heartsfield's sound remains firmly in the decade of their birth, blending country elements with dinosaur rock force to create a populist guitar army. The band manages to achieve a classic rock sound that is not so much referential as it is genuine. www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:8p0xlfwe0cqq |

Heartsfield played alt-country long before that moniker was made up, and I hope that folks behind country music at XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio, in addition to Perry's hometown country station of US 99.5 FM, will consider Georgia Flyer for their playlists. Reminds me of early Marshall Tucker, Pure Prairie League, and of course, Heartsfield. Not a bad song in the bunch, perfect for line dancing, Southern roadhouse boogie, or just plain kicking back with a country soundtrack. |

Perry Jordan, a member of the classic band Heartsfield, steps up to the plate with a 100% pure, filtered through a moonshine still, Southern rock solo release. The title track, "Georgia Flyer," has the swampy, Southern rock thang down pat, and some slinky slide that is as tasty as a fresh Georgia peach. It's all good. Precision playing and production. A real keeper. www.swampland.com/music/gritz |

This is definitely Southern, and Jordan’s ability to relax shows here. This CD is a nice combination of acoustic and electric and rock and country. It is the kind of thing that you do not hear often enough, having neither the overkill of rock or the blandness of too much of today’s country music. “Georgia Flyer” has a pop, upbeat feel, but Jordan’s singing has an authenticity that makes him sound like he means what he sings about. www.southboundbeat.com |

“Georgia Flyer" is a compilation of Southern influenced tunes which are clever, well executed and just plain fun to listen to and enjoy. Perry’s vocals are as engaging as his compositions. His laid back approach to his music affords him the ability to address somber issues, such as “Deficit of Soul,” to the whimsical “Bucket by my Bed” with seamless ease.
“Georgia Flyer” - a sweet taste of easy listening. www.southboundbeat.com |

HEARTSFIELD... has always been one of my favorite Midwestern bands. Twenty-five years ago, they were one of the brightest spots in a constellation of acts that were not quite country or not quite rock. In the '70s, bands like Buckacre, McKendree Spring, Mason Proffitt, and Pure Prairie League all attracted large Midwestern followings, but few bands could match the unique Heartsfield sound. That sound is a fresh blend of harmonies, guitars, mandolins and banjos, with a harmonica thrown in for good measure. Not to mention positive songs that celebrate life instead of wallow in self-pity and depression. Good time music. In a word, positive American music. www.midwestbeat.com/ezine/november%202000/heartsfield.html |

A lively blend of rootsy, swampy Americana cries out to see them in a live setting and getting up to do the two-step. I'll have the alligator steak.

Cody here, of the Delta Kings. Just wanted to let you know, that we thought that you guys rocked hard. I was blown away by your steadfastness of vision. Heartsfield is truly a great American Music band. It truly is apparent in the way everything coming off last night's stage sounds. You sing like a fookin' boird and the band harmonizes beautifully with ya and the guitars just chime, blast, ring and resonate all so fine. Please pass on my compliments to all in the band, but as a guitarist, the HF guitar army slayed me.
I shall sing your praises to all who will listen. Heartsfield just rocked. Guitars, Vocals, Songs, rhythmic punch and groove. It really does not get any better. I look forward to seeing you down the road. Stay cool Brother, you are the real deal. www.deltakings.com |

Heartsfield is a jammin', non-stop, feel-good, something for everybody, rock-fest! You have to check out their latest! As a former Chicago recording studio manager, I used to browse the papers for new talent and interesting shows. After being introduced to Heartsfield, I made it a point to check out their shows even though they weren't recording with us. They are that good! The crowds love them and want more, even if they are opening for another band. If I were a club owner I'd book them every week! They are main-liners! (A word to the wise) They could be a tough act to follow for a band that doesn't know how to play to a charged up audience. These guys can rock even the most stoic of connoisseurs. I look for them whenever I am back in Chicago! Enjoy! |
